PercuGraft — Autologous Bone Dowel Harvester

The Gold Standard for Bone Healing

Minimally Invasive Autologous Bone Dowel Harvester

PercuGraft Screw Dowel Harvester tip — minimally invasive bone dowel retrieval
The Biology

Cancellous Bone

PercuGraft™ harvests intact cancellous bone — tissue made up of native bone-forming cells and a dense vascular network.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) & Osteoprogenitor Cells

Progenitor cells that drive new bone formation.

Osteoblasts & Osteocytes

Native bone-forming cells.

Hematopoietic Marrow

Red marrow elements.

Vascular Network

Endothelial cells and sinusoidal vessels.

Histological section of cancellous bone — trabeculae and marrow cellularity

Swaged Introducer

Engineered to cut cleanly through bone that swells inside the cannula after coring. The swaged profile ensures precise, uniform excision of the dowel with minimal tissue disruption.

Harvesting Spoon

Captures and contains the bone dowel as it is cut. The half-open distal end allows the intact core to be removed after harvest while keeping the dowel intact.

Sounding Rod

Measures the dowel before harvest, and afterward gently pushes the intact dowel out of the harvesting spoon.

Screw Mechanism

Provides controlled mechanical advantage when freeing the dowel from the harvest site.

Why Cancellous Autograft

Osteoconductive. Osteoinductive. Osteogenic.

Cancellous autograft contains the three biologic properties that define an ideal bone graft.

Osteoconductive

Scaffold

The mineralized cortical and trabecular matrix provides a 3D framework that supports the ingrowth of new bone, blood vessels, and cells from the recipient site.

Osteoinductive

Signaling

Native bone matrix proteins and growth factors (including BMPs resident in bone) help recruit and stimulate host cells to differentiate down an osteogenic pathway.

Osteogenic

Living Cells

The trabecular marrow compartment carries viable osteoprogenitor cells, MSCs, and osteoblasts — the cellular components that distinguish autograft from allograft.

The Patient’s Own Bone — No Risk of Rejection

Because autologous graft is harvested from the patient themselves, it carries no risk of immune rejection and no risk of donor-transmitted disease.

Autograft Core

Harvested from the patient’s own bone

  • No Rejection Risk — the patient’s own tissue
  • No Disease Transmission Risk — autologous source
  • Vascular Network — native, intact at harvest
  • Living Cells — MSCs, osteoblasts, osteoprogenitors
  • Growth Factors — native BMPs and matrix proteins
